Peaceful mind

Isaiah 26:3-6 You will keep in perfect peace
   those whose minds are steadfast,
   because they trust in you.
4 Trust in the LORD forever,
for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal.
5 He humbles those who dwell on high,
   he lays the lofty city low;
he levels it to the ground
and casts it down to the dust.
6 Feet trample it down—
   the feet of the oppressed,
   the footsteps of the poor.

If our minds are focused on him we will have peace. My mind this past week and even the start of this week have not been on the Lord. I have let my emotions get the best of me. I have got to stop and focus on him!

Fear him

Psalm 33:18
18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,

I constantly have to ask if my eyes are on him or if they are on worldly things...what about you?

Anxious and stressed

Anxious and stressed out is what I am. I have real my got to change my attitude. With prayer and giving thanks to God for all he has done!!

Little things

Having some issues with Riley, and just when I start to get down in the dumps the Lord sweeps in and saves the day. The little things that get you through the day aren't surprises they are God! He is here helping us daily with little things that keep us going!

Think of all the little things in your day that kept you going:)

Encouraging

If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?
Matthew 18:12

This is so encouraging and just what I need to hear!  No matter how far we may run he will always miss us and come searching for us! God is so good!

Tell everyone what he is doing for you

“Thank God! Call out his Name! Tell the whole world who he is and what he's done! Sing to him! Play songs for him! Broadcast all his wonders! Revel in his holy Name, God-seekers, be jubilant! Study God and his strength, seek his presence day and night; Remember all the wonders he performed, the miracles and judgments that came out of his mouth. Seed of Israel his servant! Children of Jacob, his first choice! He is God, our God; wherever you go you come on his judgments and decisions. He keeps his commitments across thousands of generations, the covenant he commanded, The same one he made with Abraham, the very one he swore to Isaac; He posted it in big block letters to Jacob, this eternal covenant with Israel: "I give you the land of Canaan, this is your inheritance; Even though you're not much to look at, a few straggling strangers.” 1 Chronicles 16:8

I really like this verse! I needed it today because Riley has pushed me over the edge.  But this verse made me smile and made me remember that it's only a phase.  I need to just remember all that he has done and is doing for me in my life!

Tune

“Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.” Colossians 3:16

I like how it says let us be in tune with each other!  No of us should be doing our own thing because we all have the same goal and that is to serve the Lord!!

Submit

1 Peter 3:1-4The same goes for you wives: Be good wives to your husbands, responsive to their needs. There are husbands who, indifferent as they are to any words about God, will be captivated by your life of holy beauty. What matters is not your outer appearance—the styling of your hair, the jewelry you wear, the cut of your clothes—but your inner disposition.

If we submit to our husbands than we won't just meet the needs of our husband, we will also meet the needs of our God!!

Rewards those who seek Him!

"Wait for the LORD; be strong and courageous. Wait for the LORD" (Psalm 27:14). "Now without faith it is impossible to please God, for the one who draws near to Him must believe that He exists and rewards those who seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6).

Sitting around so many amazing people today eating my Christmas meal I thought He has to exists, because I am filled with such a love that I can't even explain! I am so thankful for all my family and friends, he has rewarded me with amazing people in my life!!

Think of all those wonderful things, moments and people that you have in your life!! Give thanks to the Lord for he is good!!!!!

Delight

If we delight ourselves in the Lord amazing things will happen.....for example:

In Daniel 3:15-27 we see the three men being put in the furnace and they didn't burn up.  They had delighted themselves in God!

Nehemiah 1:11-28 All his hard work paid off and he became cupbearer to the king!

Acts 12:5-7 An angel led him out of jail!

Acts 16:22-30 Earthquake opened all the doors in the jail house and yet no one left, instead the guard ended up letting him go and he even got to share God with him!

JoBeth- Today for some reason every time I thought I would lose my patience or my temper I would just sing!  I delighted myself in God and therefore it helped me make it through the day!

When we delight in someone everyone knows it, it's on our faces! Everyone knows that I love love love my POP and everyone either knows or will know that I love my God because they will see all that he is doing for me!

Don't get out of it

James 1:2-4
Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way

This verse actually is really nice to know about it! I am happy to know that it is in the Bible because now I can look at my trials and see that God is teaching me a lesson!

God uses me!

Hey everybody! Well let me just tell you that the last couple of days I have not had Internet and on top of that I didn't do a devotional. It was so easy to slip right out of doing God's will. The devil makes it easy for us. I stayed up late tonight because I can't have another bad day, I need God in my life daily! He is so good to me!!

Well tonight I was doing my devotional and one of the verses really stuck out and that is 2 Corinthians 5:20..it talks about how we are an ambassador for Christ and that we must allow God to work through us to help others follow his path!

I loved it! I must daily show others the way!!! God is in me and I must do his work because you never know who is watching!!

Look after each other!

Romans 15:1-2 Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status. Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, "How can I help?"
3-6That's exactly what Jesus did. He didn't make it easy for himself by avoiding people's troubles, but waded right in and helped out. "I took on the troubles of the troubled," is the way Scripture puts it. Even if it was written in Scripture long ago, you can be sure it's written for us. God wants the combination of his steady, constant calling and warm, personal counsel in Scripture to come to characterize us, keeping us alert for whatever he will do next. May our dependably steady and warmly personal God develop maturity in you so that you get along with each other as well as Jesus gets along with us all. Then we'll be a choir—not our voices only, but our very lives singing in harmony in a stunning anthem to the God and Father of our Master Jesus!
7-10So reach out and welcome one another to God's glory. Jesus did it; now you do it! Jesus, staying true to God's purposes, reached out in a special way to the Jewish insiders so that the old ancestral promises would come true for them. As a result, the non-Jewish outsiders have been able to experience mercy and to show appreciation to God. Just think of all the Scriptures that will come true in what we do!

Do things for others that are in need, don't do things for just  the people that are around you!
