Do you need a bath?

1 Peter 3:13-16
If with heart and soul you're doing good, do you think you cab be stopped? Even if you suffer for it, you're still better off. Don't give the opposition a second thought. Through thick and thin, keep your hearts at attention, in adoration before Christ, your Master. Be ready to speak up and tell anyone who asks why you're living the way you are, and always with the utmost courtesy. Keep a clear conscience before God so that when people throw mud at you, none of it will stick. They'll end up realizing that they're the ones who need a bath.

Wow! My favorite part is when he says the mud won't stick on you if we are living the right way!! We must always be at attention!
I didn't get to blog yesterday on the road and trying to get Internet is a challenge.

Wisdom

Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom.  Though it cost all you have, get understanding.  Proverbs 4:7

Do you have wisdom? I know I don't but I sure am trying.  Wisdom to me is someone who is making it their priority to learn who God is, what He is like, how he relates to us and what all is he doing in the world.  Only godly wisdom makes everything meaningful!  So stop what you are doing and seek him and his wisdom!

Life will change!

A man's ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all his paths. Proverbs 5:21

Live with the understanding of who you are and why you were made!  Let the truth sink in...when it does your whole life will change!  Your life + Jesus in your heart = A life that will never be the same!!

Prayer

Well I hit the road this morning, headed up to my moms for a short visit!! Before hitting the road I said a prayer! I asked God to watch over us but more important to give me patience in the car. Well the boys were amazing this trip didn't have any problems... It was the other drivers that were on the road..ah! I thought I could pull my hair out at some people( I get this from my Uncle Randy) any ways and then it hit me I didn't pray for patience with the boys I just prayed for patience...yup God was testing me. I failed from San Angelo to Witchia Falls but did great the rest of the way I just had to pray really hard!! Lol

God hears all prayers, big ones or small ones and yea he cares about all of them and he cares so much about you! Pray to him today and see for yourself how quickly he responds!!!

Today has been the WORST day ever.. Let me just say that I just sat down and cried my eyes out.  We are moving and just everything seems to be stopping us.  So after I had my dramatic spell I decided that I needed to be thankful for what has already been done and I need to chill out.  My day is going a whole lot better now!  Thank him for everything around you and then you will see all that he is doing for you now!!

Are you deaf?

Proverbs 1:24 As it is, I've called, but you've turned a deaf ear; I've reached out to you, but you've ignored me.

WOW! How many times do you call upon God and he answers right then in there??? But yet when he wants us to do something we tend to run away.  In my own personal experiences I have ignored God and guess what he doesn't leave you alone about it, he keeps on.  So tonight before you say your prayers don't just ask what can God do for me, Ask what can I do for you God?  Your life will change!

Sacred Marriage

Your marriage always needs protection.  This morning in my Sunday School class we talked about ways to protect your marriage!

8 things to protect your marriage:

1. By daily time with God
-best thing you can do for your marriage is pray together,  I can say from my own experience that having a daily devotional has blessed my marriage more than anything!  Shane and I don't always do it together but we do talk to one another about what is going on in our Christian walk!
2. By safe-guarding other relationships
-such as your co-workers, friends...we have to be so careful not to let others in our marriage that are not suppose to be in it.
3. By creating boundaries @ work
NO flirting with co-workers and try not to bring stress home with you
4. By careful modesty
As my momma would say "If it's not for SALE don't advertise"  And this is so true.  If you are married why the heck would you want other men looking at you??  So dress the way you are suppose too!
5. By guarding your eyes and ears
6. By guarding aganist the internet
-The internet is so easy to get into things that you aren't suppose to.  We have to be so careful because this can really affect your marriage
7. By spending quality time together
-Shane and I set aside a night out of the month and we put the boys to bed early and just relax together.  We still have so many things to learn about one another!  Make time for your spouse!!
8. By being/using accountability
-Just think if you would use your partner are your accountability, you would grow and grow.  Sometimes its so hard to tell the person you are married to everything but in fact if we did our marriage would be WAY better!

SATAN'S GOAL IS TO DESTROY YOUR MARRIAGE
Take these little steps so that he doesn't! Your spouse is your best friend and you don't want to lose that!

Trust=Blessed!

Psalms 40:4 Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust.

When it comes to everyday living we tend to trust other sources, such as: doctors, bankers, counselor and the  popular vote.  We use these things to fill in the gaps of what we think God can't handle.  When in fact that is wrong!  If we would fully trust God, which I know is a hard thing to do because we are always wanting an answer but if we did fully trust in him, we would be truly blessed! 

Dead to sin...

Count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.  Romans 6:11

We died with Jesus and we are raised  with him.  Count on it, and watch your experience line up with truth!

Live a life of Belief!

Romans 6:6-11 Could it be any clearer? Our old way of life was nailed to the cross with Christ, a decisive end to that sin-miserable life- no longer at sin's every beck and call!  What we believe is this: If we get included in Christ's sin-conquering death, we also get included in his life saving resurrection.  We know that when Jesus was raised from the dead it was a signal of the end of death-as-the-end.  Never again will death have the last word.  When Jesus died, he took sin down with him, but  alive he brings God down to us.  From now on, think of it this way: Sin speaks a dead language that means nothing to you; God speaks your mother tongue, and you hang on every word.  You are dead to sin and alive to God.  That's what Jesus did.

I know it was a lot to read but wow!  I've read it over and over again! Death became life..and that life is in us!  Live a life of belief!

I'm bursting with song!

Psalm 30:11-12  You did it: you changed wild lament into whirling dance; You ripped off my black mourning band and decked me with wildflowers.  I'm about to burst with song;  I can't keep quiet about you God, my God, I can't thank you enough.

This verse is exactly how I feel! I just wanna burst and tell everyone how I feel! I'm just so pumped up!!!  I have been doing a daily devotional for several months now and let me tell you its amazing and refreshing!  It seems as if now all the little stuff that use to bring me down can't even touch me now! I'm on fire!! LOL  I'm dancing now and the wildflowers are pouring out on me!! I'm loving this feeling!  I wish I could describe it better for you, but you will have to see for yourself!  Jump into his word and feel what I feel!!

Sin or not to sin...

Romans 6:1 So what do we do?  Keep on sinning so God can keep on forgiving?  I should hope not!

Paul had asked this question and I'm sure we are all guilty of asking it as well.  If we know God will forgive us why not?  Right?  No, it doesn't work that way.  We didn't sign a contract with God for our salvation, we exchanged lives with a Redeemer. 

If your heart is in the right place, sinning doesn't feel right...so if your asking this question maybe you should look into your heart to find the answer.

V-Day!

Well today was Valentines Day! Happy Valentines by the way, I had an amazing day!  My husband just out did himself and just made me feel so special! It was a really great day! I am so blessed to have such an amazing christian man in my life!  Yes there are times that I just wanna choke him but he always leads me down the right path! Thinking about my husband as well as many others today!  I love you all so much!

John 13:35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.

Life in the Spirit

Galatians 3: 2-4 states, "Let me put this question to you: How did your new life begin? Was it by working your heads off to please God? Or was it by responding to God's message to you? Are you going to continue this craziness? For only crazy people would think they could complete by their own efforts what was begun by God. If you weren't smart enough or strong enough to begin it, how do you suppose you could perfect it? Did you go through this whole painful learning process for nothing? It is not yet a total loss, but it certainly will be if you keep this up!

I try so hard to be what this world calls the perfect christian, when that is not what it is all about. God sent his son into the world not to make it better but to make US NEW! A real christian has the fruit of the spirit! I want this but, in order for me to get it, it has to be given to me by God. God starts his work in you and only by his grace and love is it continued in you.

Whatever he does prospers!

Psalm 1:3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.  Whatever he does prospers.

What does your character produce?  Do you produce fruit that will last forever?

Law

Psalm 1:2 His delight is in the law of the Lord, and his law he meditates day and night.

Many of us have failed at one or more of his commandments.  Meditate on it and pray to have it fulfilled in you!

Hungry?

Proverbs 10:3 God won't starve an honest soul, but he frustrates the appetites of the wicked.

What do you hunger for?
If your always hungry for God then you will never starve, however if you are hungry for other things then you will always starve and be unsatisfied.

God reveals

Daniel 2:22 He reveals deep and hidden things.

Do you ever feel like you want God to just fill you in on what is going on?  I know I do! I'm always asking God, "Just show me what I need to do or what is going to happen next?"  But God reveals things to us in his time, we can't know all the information at one time because it probably wouldn't make sense or we couldn't handle it.  So we just need to be patient and wait on him to show us these hidden things!

Cause ya had a bad day!

There is a story in Job about Heath, Satan and God.  It's a good lesson however the last verse stuck out to me.  Job 2:10-He told her, "You're talking like an empty-headed fool.  We take the good days from God-why not also the bad days?"

Isn't that so true?  We will praise him all day long, read his word, tell others about him and go to church but the minute something bad happens we fall on our knees and ask WHY God why??  We worship him more desperately in a storm than in a calm.  God has allowed these bad days because the outcome will be good!  Praise him!

Opinion!

The fear of human opinion disables; trusting in God protects you from that. Proverbs 29:25

We get so wrapped up with the worldly things that we forget to trust in God.  We forget that God doesn't care if we have all these nice clothes or furniture.  He doesn't care about anything other than you!  But sometimes our focus is in the hands of others.  We care so much what others think that it even makes some people go into debt!  CRAZY!  Don't worry about others and their opinions because the only real opinion that matters is Gods!

Change your clothes!

 Ephesians 4:22,24 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self...and to put on the new self.

This is exactly how the Christian life is...we were wearing these old out of date clothes and then we changed into these new clothes!  My old life is no more...however yes it may be more comfortable to stay in these old clothes but you don't need them anymore.  Time to say HELLO to this wonderful new outfit!

Do you ask God why?

A man's own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages aganist the Lord. Proverbs 19:3

I knew this verse had to be in the Bible. I have been looking for it for awhile! I hate it when myself and others say "why are you doing this to me God" he didn't do anything to us... He gave us our independence.. So we have got to stop pointing that finger at God and start pointing it at ourselves!

Got the flu:(

Went to the doctor this afternoon. I was feeling like crap.Was told that I have type "B" flu. This is very rare and their is no medicine for it. I have been praying and I would really appreciate your prayers!!

Represent

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.  Colossians 3:23

My husband works for the United States Air Force!  And today he was given several awards! I was so proud.  But not to be bragging about my hubby I should be thanking God!  My husband went into this program telling himself that he was going to be a man of God!  He decided back in August that he was going to be a leader and act like one.  He wanted others to see that God lives in his heart.  Shane and I also prayed and prayed these last several months.  And guess what when you give it to God and you work for him and not your employer it pays off! I am so proud of my husband and what the Lord is doing in his life!!!

Ungodly things

If anyone turns a deaf ear to the law, even his prayers are detestable. Proverbs 28:9

He can answer our prayers more when he isn't disciplining us for all the ungodly things that we are doing.
