Tame your tongue

Yup i'm still in James again today...rereading a few things and verse 6 stuck out to me today.
James 3:5-6  "It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire.  A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that.  By our speech we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it, smoke right from the pit of hell."

When we make a mistake when writing, we get to erase it. When we buy the wrong size we get to return it.  When we make too big of a hole with the hammer we find a bigger picture to cover it.  HOWEVER when we speak ugly words we can NEVER take them back.  How careful are you with your tongue?  Over the last couple of weeks I have been wearing a ponytail thing on my arm and every time I think something bad about someone or say something I pop my own wrist.   God is helping me out with this!!

We must learn to tame our tongue, because it has such great power!
