Sticks and stones can break my bones and words will always hurt me.....

Well when we left ELEMENT Church in Cheyenne Wy..we knew that it would be hard to find another church with the same passion to reach others. We have already started praying for our move to Virginia that we may find a church that we belong too. Long story short I met a lady here in San Angelo named Jessica and she was like I know this church in Hampton! She gave me the link and guess WHAT it is just like ELEMENT!! CRAZY! So this morning I go on their website like at 5 am and listened to last weeks message!! IT WAS AMAZING! This is what I learned:

WORDS ARE POWERFUL.... the right word said at the right time can change some one's life forever!
Sometimes we think of something nice to say to someone but we hold back and we say nothing...WHY? We don't hesitate to say something bad about someone..
We should always say things that lift others up...Toxic words hurt and stay with us forever.

Whoever made the saying "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me" WAS WRONG...I would rather someone hit me than say something that I will forever remember in my heart.

Proverbs 12:18 says
Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

People will always say reckless words to you, you can't stop them but you can control your words.

Luke 6:45 says
The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

Toxic words shows how your heart is........when your heart changes than your words will change.

Ephesians 4:29
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Whenever you think of something NICE say IT...Don't hold back!
Don't wait until someone moves or they DIE to say something nice because it won't matter anymore...

Pour into the people in your life, build them up! Your friends, family even neighbors.

Philippians 2:14-15
Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe.

DON'T COMPLAIN AND LET TOXIC WORDS PUT YOU AND OTHERS DOWN---SHINE!

So my challenge this week is to lift others up and not put them down..it might be hard but I am up to the challenge! Do it with me!! How many people can we lift up this week?????????????
